Seriously if you want to draw Korra use a goddamn reference it’s not that damn hard
And can I just say that using pictures of “real Inuits” does literally nothing for your argument? Korra is an animated character with a set skin color. If you don’t draw her with that skin color, YOU ARE DRAWING HER WRONG.
And finding it whitewashed that she has blue eyes? No, motherfucker. She’s brown, and if they make a live-action movie she should be played by a brown-skinned actress, but she is still a member of a fictional race — her eyes could be rainbow-colored and that still wouldn’t be whitewashing. Besides, there are Asian people born with blue eyes. Namely the Mongols, who — WOULDN’T YOU KNOW IT — also were a strong influence on the Water Tribe. And also, I don’t see how her having blue eyes somehow makes artists pick up the ‘peach’ crayon instead of the ‘brown’ crayon. Does it compel you? Does your hand literally become autonomous and begin coloring while you scream “NOOOOO” in a Darth Vader-esque fashion? Does Elvis tell you to draw her white?
Fuck. People just gotta sit down and admit they don’t like drawing brown people. Just be fucking honest with yourselves.
